This is barring any significant moves from other metro teams and I'm pretty much on board with Tessier...

Caps
Pens
Isles
Flyers/Rangers
Devils
Canes
Jackets

Two things:
Hard to predict how the newer rangers lineup will fair, but the main issue is defense and whether or not Henry takes a sharp turn.

The Devils look to possibly be making more moves which could shake things up.

Division titles mean nothing in hockey. The division names, team alignments and playoff formats have been changed more times than I can remember. Just make the playoffs and anything can happen.

well it's Pittsburgh/Washington by at least 10 points on the field.

for the field, that's a crapshoot if i've ever seen one. pretty much all those teams could be anything from playoff automatics to bottom 5. all have massive holes but enough talent to add intrigue.

Henrik Lundqvist wasn't and isn't the problem. Check his wins above replacement and goals saved above replacement.

So the consensus is

Caps at 1
Pens at 2
Flyers = puke in mouth

Yes seems to be the Case. As much as the predictions are encouraging for placement in the standings I believe it's a bit premature. The flyers are def building for a few out and to the dismay of many, the flyers will be an elite team in two years time.

His play dropped off in the playoffs.

It still remains to be seen how well your newer forward core gels and if your D holds up. This isn't an attack, it's simply what is.

Because he face almost 4000 shots on the year. He's not the problem. W/o him last year the Rangers draft in the top 5, or should I say they coyotes draft in the top 5.

Well thats a scary thought for a Rags fan, no? Drop in his play or injury and the Rags are in a hard spot much like the Habs last year...

Lundquist is great. Girardi and Staal make his life very difficult.

What I'm getting from this is that the consensus is that the flyers finish above the rags, which is good enough for me this year.
